Entering Louisiana

New Orleans

July 9, 2016

After cruising through Alabama and Mississippi, we entered Louisiana, and quickly arrived at our destination for the next couple of days which was New Orleans! Unfortunately, one has to be 21 to rent a hotel in New Orleans, so instead we booked a very nice AirBnB a couple blocks outside of the French District. We quickly unloaded all of our stuff and headed into the French District to grab some Crawfish Étouffée. After grabbing some food and a virgin Piña colada, we walked around the district navigating through the drunk tourists and taking pictures, before returning to the AirBnB for some sleep before the next day.

The second day of New Orleans we headed to a fantastic brunch place called The Ruby Slipper Cafe, then walked around the French District during the day, and headed out to take some pictures of the Superdome. We ended up calling an Uber to take us back to where we were staying, and while the women was very nice, she was also a pretty terrible driver.

After a quick break at the Airbnb we headed back out to hit the town, which meant catching a quick ferry across the Mississippi River to take pictures of New Orleans at sunset. After a successful evening taking pictures we headed back into New Orleans for some live music and beignets, courtesy of Cafe Beignet (as far as fried dough and powdered sugar go, they were pretty good). A long nights sleep left us ready to hit the road the next morning and head to Houston!
