On today's docket: the Hoover Dam, and Vegas! But first, new tires. In our first (and hopefully only) issue with the car, the driver's side rear tire had developed a flat. It all worked out in the end as the tire was under warranty, and they were running out of tread and needed to be replaced soon. The terms of warranty did mean that we would need to carry the tire with us up to New England though. So, after a quickish stop at the nearest tire place (still 60 miles away from the Grand Canyon!) we were on the road again. A couple hours later put us at the Hoover Dam, which wasn't quite as impressive as we thought it would be, but still an impressive feat of engineering (plus the super blue water made for great pictures). A half hour later put us in Vegas, just in time for the sunset and the neon lights to come alive. We spent the night wandering the strip and eating White Castle, which has to be some of the best fast food out there (this is blasphemous, but it might even give Chick-Fil-A a run for its money).
